Apple HomePod mini Music Playing light want to turn off

Hello - I saw posts for this for over a year and can't believe this still can't happen.

Yesterday for Christmas I got my mini and I am a very dark room person.

I had to put a piece of cardboard on top of my mini as nothing glows in my room and I have a hard enough time going to sleep.

Please, is there a way to turn off the light when music is playing?

Thank you kindly!

My Mini has a white disk on the top and when Music is playing, it is a steady light that varies by the light around the room. It dim's at night but never goes out if sound (White Noise) is playing.

The Volume buttons are printed very lightly and you have to look to see them but no other light unless you are using Siri.

So I play sound all night and there is no option to tur4n that off like there is for the Siri lights.

OK Apple MUST be looking into this simple request to turn a LED off for just Music playing.

This can't be a hard coding request and I do not want to have to resort to taping a cover over the top just to have the light off.

It might be low but it's annoying for someone with insomnia and everything else in the room is off except for the homepod mini.

Please Apple - look at this request and make a difference otherwise I will be returning this.
