Struggling to update software

hi Guys

so I connected my phone to my pc to do the iOS 15 software update, but it keeps saying my iTunes is not the latest version. I have updated iTunes and checked under the drop down and it says that it is the latest version . How do I go about getting my software update done ? It’s for iPhone 6s
