Trying to pair Homepod mini and it says that Ihome is paired with other user?

Are you setting it up with your own Apple ID from your own device (iPhone, iPad) ?
Or is this a used HomePod that hadn’t been erased? If this is the latter it will need to be factory reset by pressing the top method: Reset HomePod - Apple Support . Then set it up with your own device.
