Moving applications to a folder within a folder

Just bought a new MacBook Pro with Catalina and so far I'm NOT having a good time and so far I hate it. Apple includes a ton of applications that I will never use so I created a folder called Unused within the Applications folder to move all those apps in to. I tried holding down the Command key like suggested and that works for some but not for all. It's a PITA having to scroll through all the apps to get to the one I actually want which is why I was trying to move them. Is there another work-around for this? Why Apple would do something like this is a mystery and I HATE IT!
