Thanks for uploading the photo!
The keyboard icon in the top right corner of the screen is expected on the login screen. If you click on it, you can change the keyboard layout if needed.

are u saying its a feature of the macOS 12.1?
My laptop did not have it initially.. do u know if there's a setting to disable/remove this keyboard from the login screens. I know the setting once one is logged in (through preferences > users and groups)
I think it was added in macOS Monterey 12.0.1 (the first release version). Unfortunately I don't know of a way to remove it yet.
