Report a lost iphone

Could you report a lost phone and prevent someone from using it once you set it to erase all data?

iPhone 11, iOS 15

No, there is no one to report it to, and if you have erased it the phone can no longer be tracked. However, if you do not remove it from your account no one can ever use it. Additionally, you can ask your carrier to blacklist the IMEI, but if it is still on your account that doesn’t add much further protection.
