Exchanging my watch connected to Verizon

Hey there, I am exchanging my watch during the return or exchange period. I am sending the old one back a few days before I get the new one. I have it connected to Verizon and when I unpaired the old one, I chose to keep the cellular plan.

A couple of questions: Was it right to select to keep my cellular plan? I plan on activating the new watch on the same plan.

Can I delete the old watch off of my Apple ID on my phone under settings? Or will this not allow the new one to connect back to Verizon, I see the phone number on there.

Does anyone know if Verizon will charge me another activation fee for exchanging this new watch?

Thank you!

Hey there, mgcaekdb.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for posting about the questions involving your Apple Watch. We'd be glad to see how we can help.

Keeping the cellular plan is fine, as the new Apple Watch will pick up using that. You should be safe to remove the other Apple Watch from your Apple ID account without issue. In regards to the activation fee, you'll need to pose that question directly to your carrier, as they'll be best suited to answer questions about their policies.

Take care.
