Monterey upgrade to 12.1 breaks outlook and mdfind search

Just after upgrading to Monterey 12.1 MS Outlook search stop working... meaning it doesn't matter what you search you'll get nothing!.

None of the "usual" spotlight issues workarounds fixes the problem. I go further and try Spotlight (⌘+Spacebar) and try to find any app in my applications folder, spotlight finds nothing. Then I go even farther and try "mdfind" in terminal... lets say : "mdfind -onlyin /Users/user-name/Downloads -name pdf" and guess what... it returns NOTHING

Does anyone @ apple support has any clue when that will be fixed?

You'd have to ask Apple Support that question. We have no idea what their plans my be.

I don't use Outlook, but it sounds like you have no Spotlight capability at all. I don't have any problems with Spotlight.

Any chance you are using Goolag Drive? People have had problems searching anything stored on that since it now stores everything in the cloud and not locally. That shouldn't apply to finding Applications, though.
