We are seeing this observation with some regularity - where UK and NL (Dutch) users have noticed that their 2022 Public Holidays are not self-populating despite having subscribed to this calendar.

The problem appears to be independent of device and iOS/iPadOS version. This might suggest that the issue is with Apple’s back-end - as it is Apple that populate this element of the Calendar. At present, we have seen no comment (official or otherwise) from Apple.

At present there is no workaround. Disabling and re-enabling the UK Calendar has no effect - and neither does restart of the iPad.

We remain hopeful that the 2022 Holiday Calendar will populate on 1st January 2022. If not, we can perhaps expect to see more reports within the coming weeks.

In the meantime, you might consider seeking assistance directly from Apple Support - and, if you receive useful information, share it with us here.

Good morning. Apple good to word and called on time, after normal checks on screen share to check settings, agent spoke with engineers who confirmed it was an Known Apple problem and was currently being worked on, they hope to resolve it shortly when they do next software update. Only time will tell. Hope this is helpful

If this is an issue that requires a software update to fix - as opposed to updating the subscription calendar data - this will be a major a problem for anyone that is unable to update to the updated version.

The problem, as is, affects all versions of iOS/iPadOS. I can confirm that the problem affects owners of iPad and iPhone with iOS 12.5.5, iOS/iPadOS 14.8.1, iPadOS 15.x - and interim versions.

The next software update, when released, may only be for iOS/iPadOS 15.x.
