Constant Bluetooth disconnection with all products including Apple BeatsX

My brand new iPhone 13 pro max I just got for Christmas will not stay connected to a Bluetooth device for more than a minute, is this a software issue or hardware? There are no error messages that play which makes me concerned that I will have to shell out £500 just to repair my box fresh phone that showed no indication of fault
