What next step I need to do in order to backup my iPhone to the iMac after I located my iPhone when connecting it via USB?

How do i backup my iphone to my Imac with ios13? This might be a stupid question, but i'm trying to backup my iphone to my Imac with the ios 13.1.2. I've tried doing what I always done since I've owned an Apple device but this time when I plug my device into my Imac and open itunes the iphone icon is nowhere to be found. I've looked online to see if anyone else is having this problem but i seem to be the only one.
