Apps Crash and Icons Flash

I've been having a weird bug with my iPad Pro. For multiple applications, my app will randomly crash (shut off and go the the home page that I was last on) and the last few applications that I have used will sequentially flash (as if I pressed the icon, but the app doesn't open). In general, I'm really annoyed by iPad OS 15. Not sure if this is because Apple's switching over to M1 with the latest hardware, but nonetheless I don't what this to happen.

Any suggestions on what I can do? Could this possibly be a hardware issue? I'm already upgraded to the latest OS. Could this possible be because I don't have enough storage free on my device?
