Red flickering light on iPhone notch

I was on my phone last night, and suddenly I notice this red, flickering light on the notch of my iPhone XS. So I recorded it with my mom’s phone to try and see if I’m just imagining stuff, but turns out there really is something flickering. (See the photo attached, it’s originally a video, but it won’t upload) The light appears to be white on the photo but it is actually red in real life. Is this normal or should I be worried?

It’s actually the Flood Illuminator and Dot Matrix Projector which is part of the TrueDepth Camera for Face ID. It emits infrared light for the other sensors to recognise your face even in the dark.

In very dark conditions some of this light is visible to the human eye, and it shows clearly on most camera recordings.
