Monterey on M1 MBP (256gb) not detecting SATA drives

I connected my newly purchased UGREEN Dual Bay dock to my M1 MBP with a Belkin USB-C to USB-A cable but the drives do not get detected. The port and cable are fine because it can detect my 1tb Transcend external HDD without problem. What is the problem?

Does it show in About this Mac>System Report>Hardware>USB?

look for both the Dock and the drives.

If you are still on 12.0.1 try updating to 12.1 which was released 12/13/2021

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

It could be that the Dock is not compatible with Monterey

I have tried three different disks: Western Digital 2tb HDD (Purple), Transcend 256GB (SSD), Samsung 128GB (SSD). None of them show up. But they work fine with Catalina and Mojave.

I erased Monterey 12.1 and replaced it with the latest Big Sur. Sad to say, same result as Monterey 12.1.

It appears to me, the problem is not with Monterey but with Apple M1.

The question is, what shall I do??

I just updated Monterey to 12.1. The UGREEN dual bay dock now shows up under System Report>Hardware>USB. But the problem is the HDD and SDD do not appear. Neither do they appear in Disk Utility. I have tried four separate HDD's or SDD's (Western Digital, Transcend and Samsung), to no avail.

Should I try Big Sur? If so, which version would be best? And where can I get it?
