Motorcycle vibration causing damage to camera

This article makes it sound like damage will only occur if the phone is mounted to the handlebars of the motorcycle, correct? Think it is safe to bring the phone on a 2 month motorcycle trip if I wrap it in a sweatshirt and put it in my backpack while traveling?

Correct - damage may occur over time if the phone is mounted to the handlebars without using some type of vibration isolation mount.

It should not be an issue to bring the phone with you carried on your person or in a backpack, just hard mounted to your motorcycle where it would be subject to constant direct vibration.
