I just tried to plug in my brand new Mac Mini purchased in the US, into a UK outlet with an adaptor (not a converter). There was a small spark! I searched Apple threads others said it is safe to do so, but now I am afraid to turn it on.
I have been using my US MacBook without a converter with no issues.
An adapter is all that is needed or you can visit your local Apple Store and purchase a UK power cable.
