I am having a hard time sending a series of quicktime movies by email. They range in size from 55 MB to 3.4 GB

Put them in some cloud service (Dropbox, iCloud, Google drive, Microsoft etc) and send a link to it via email. Mail.app might also propose saving such large attachments temporarily in iCloud.
