Can you connect the eGPUs to M1 mac?

My friends are telling me its only for Intel chip macs, but I want to know 100 percent.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.1

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

That is correct. Only certain Intel Mac computers support an eGPU, not Apple Silicon Mac computers.
