MACBOOK Air not turning on

Hello community I hope everyone is well and a Happy New Year to all.

Here is my question:

I have a MaBook Air that suddenly will not turn on. It suddenly started making a sound like when its processing information and its cooling down. I think it was the fan if the MacBook Air has cooling fans. I am new to the APPLE brand so be patient with me. So it does not turn on and that sound comes from it. I made it stop by holding down the power button. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
