Using iPad Pro as monitor for MacBook Pro

I have the most recent iPad Pro 12.9" and a MacBook Pro - both have the M1 chipset.

I perceive the screen of the iPad to be better than the MacBook - is that true, or a figment of my imagination ?

The reason I ask is that when I do photo editing - Lightroom / Photoshop on the MacBook, I am considering if there is merit in connecting the devices and using the iPad as a monitor.

Grateful for your advice

PS - is this a physical (cable) connection, or WiFi ? Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.1

I have the iPad mirroring the MacBook beautifully via USB cable.
How can I view for example Photoshop on the MacBook and Mail on the iPad screen ?
  1. Make sure you are in screen-extension (two-screen) mode instead of screen-mirroring mode.
  2. Drag the Mail window off of the MacBook screen onto the iPad screen.
