Connect Macbook Air m1 to imac retina 4k (2017)

Is it possible to connect my macbook Air m1 (12.0.1) to my iMac Retina 4k 21.5"2017 10.15.7)?

So, you cannot use the iMac as a screen for your MacBook Air, period.


You can however use Screen Sharing over ethernet, and view the MacBook Air as a window on the iMac.

Perhaps you've been supplied a 'power delivery' cable.

Those usually do both: Power Delivery -- and Data.


Third-party cables of unknown status may do anything.

And even the correct one(s) may not do what you seek.


Maybe someone with that specific circumstance may reply.

If those cannot be connected, the idea may be discontinued.
