Apple iPhone trade in.

So ive been looking into getting a new iPhone and letting go of my 8 plus with a trade in to go towards the new phone. The only problem is that my 8 plus has a scratch/crack on the camera lense that doesnt effect the camera. Will apple still let me trade this in at full value ($160) or less. I dont feel like this should be too big of an issue since apple replaces the body of their refurbished phones.

That would zero out the trade-in value. If there's anything wrong other than the battery or front screen assembly, that basically means nothing. I get that it sounds unfair, but that's kind of the way it is. However, you might be able to sell it privately for a decent price.

Yeah. Trade-ins typically go into making replacement iPhones for the next customer. I'm not sure if there are any iPhone 8s being replaced under warranty or AppleCare+, but they're still available for out of warranty replacements. Replacement iPhones don't necessarily need to be cosmetically perfect, but they're supposed to be functionally perfect outside of the battery which always gets replaced. A scratch on the camera cover would seem to be a functional issue.
