FaceTime on Macair is grayed out when I put any contact information in.

How do I use FaceTime on the Mac Air? I do not use an iPhone. I did register my telephone number in my apple account so why is FaceTime not working?

Hi stormie160,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We see that you're coming from this article: Use FaceTime with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch however it sounds like you are attempting to use FaceTime on your Mac, is that right? You mentioned that FaceTime is greyed out, have you signed into FaceTime with your Apple ID?

Check out how to do so here: Sign in to or out of FaceTime on Mac.

If you're still running into an issue, check out the troubleshooting steps here: If FaceTime isn't working on your Mac.

Hope that helps!
