If you use Get Support it will most likely prompt you for your location and then refer you to an Apple Authorized Service Provider for evaluation. I know it kind of bites, but usually when they perform an evaluation, it's not free unless it's an issue covered by the warranty. And you're not likely to know that until it's evaluated.

But certainly there are other possibilities for a balky power button or for that matter any button. I guess that's why most here would recommend going to an Apple Store where they're available, since they don't charge anything to look at an item.

Not necessarily true regarding being charged for the diagnosis (not that there is much involved) but since there are no AASPs in Pakistan not really an issue. But thanks for your input.

I've never heard of an Apple Store charging for a diagnosis. I've seen AASPs (at least in the US) that publish a set price for a diagnostic service, but waive that if it uncovers an issue covered by the warranty.

But where did you hear there are no AASPs in Pakistan? There's aren't many, and the only one I could find was FutureTech. It's the only listed iPhone AASP in Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad.

I never said that Apple charged for a diagnosis. I've not seen an AASPs, in the US or elsewhere charge to push on the power button to determine the spring has broken. And many AASP's waive it if you pay for a repair.

Last I had heard there was no corporate presence in Pakistan, but I don't really spend enough time time checking worldwide coverage. Apparently you do so congratulations to you. Or perhaps that was what you were doing during your long absence. If there is such a thing then the OP would have found this out when they clicked on the Get Support link. Of course FutureTech is a chain so it could be they are an AASP in other countries and list that but it doesn't apply to Pakistan. I don't really know and honestly I'm not that interested.

I wouldn't want to sound authoritative on a subject on the basis of "last I heard". But it's easy enough to check before making a claim.
