My iPhone takes about a second to lock after I press the lock button.
Could anyone tell me what setting must I change in order to instantly lock it?
I reseted the configuration settings and the delayed lock came back. It’s driving me nuts!
I am aware that Assistive touch is not enabled.
Also, I have face id and these are my settings:
I have an iPhone 13 pro max running iOS 15.2.
Turns out I had an accesibility shorcut turned on and that is what caused the “issue”. Disabling it did the trick.
When one or more accesibility shortcuts are enabled, the sistem will not lock your phone instantly when you press the sleep button. It will wait a bit to see if you press the sleep button two more times to toggle the accesibility settings you have enabled.

Sadly, that wasn’t the case
No I mean. When I press the lock button, the screen takes like a second and then it goes off.
I would like this to be instant. As this was the behavior of the phone when I first got it.

Don’t look at the screen when locking it. While it may take a second to close, if you aren’t looking at it the phone is locked as soon as you press the button, and there is no way to interrupt the phone as it locks.
When you press the lock button it first saves the content of whatever app you had displayed. It waits until that is done before the screen goes off, but the phone is locked instantly.
Have you tried restarting the phone?
Do you mean the delay/auto lock?
Settings/Display and Brightness/Auto Lock
Set to the time desired. Is that what you meant?
I see… Yeah. I’ve restarted the phone several times.
Disable double press on the Side Button to activate Apple Pay/Wallet.
