Scribble won’t work

When I try making a message on my Apple Watch and I click on the message bar it takes me to the scribble screen and when I try nothing shows up it is just a blank space and then the emoji symbol dictation and back space there are no dots to show where you can use scribble but it works in other apps but not messages
