LG C1 Apple TV App 4K

Hi Community,

I have recently purchased an L1 C1 4K OLED TV. I have connected my account to the Apple TV App so I can stream my Library as well as take advantage of the Apple+ Trial Period. My question is regarding 4K: When I normally watch UHD / 4K Content, the TV normally responds with a Logo "HDR". Nothing like that happens with the Apple TV App, and just to confirm yes the films I purchased are declared as 4K from within iTunes. So without any actual visual indicator, am I really watching a film in 4k or HD?

Some LG TVs may show extra stream information by way of the (⋯) key on the remote.

HDR does not signify UHD/4K. Those are independent properties. Content can be 4K without being HDR, or content can be HDR without being 4K.

The Apple TV app on a 4K smart TV does support 4K streaming. It would use the best quality available for the content and for that device, according to device settings. Not all content is available in 4K.

Thanks for the reply. Regarding the Apple TV App on the LG C1 TV do you happen to know if it supports 4K Streaming?
