multiple lines of audio

Hi! Im trying to overlap music in imovie, but it is only letting me put it on one line making the music transitons harsh. Is there anyway to add an exta line for audio to provide better transitions?

You should be able to put your cursor on one audio clip and, while pressing down, pull it down and slide it under the other audio clip. If you pull it down as far as it can go, it will uncouple the audio clip from everything above it and make it freely movable. You can pretty much stack as many audio clips as you want.

Also, if you move your cursor over the audio clip a fade handle will appear on the edge of the clip letting you impart a fade to the clip. If you do this on the edges of two clips that are lined up end to end, you might be able to smooth the transition to your satisfaction.

My preference is to place the clips end to end and separate them for a couple of seconds, to let the first one end playing and have the second one independently begin playing after a pause. That way you don't have a jarring transition.
