Does connecting your m1 macbook air to an external display HARM the battery in any way?

External display use lid closed unplugged from electric I would like to close my MacBook Pro (M1 chip) and use the external monitor. However, the only way to do that is to plug the electrical power source which it not ideal because it will wear out the battery like it did my other Macbook's battery. Any other options? Thanks in advance!

Short answer, no.

I have been using one with my M1 MacBook Air for over a year now and have no issues.
