2021 iMac power adapter

I have a 2021 iMac on my power adapter there is a ethernet port is that so I can go straight to the modem🤔.

You can connect to the Internet using either Wi-Fi or by Ethernet, that is what the connection on the power adapter is for. There is not enough room on the computer itself to install an Ethernet port.
