Turning off "count of unread" notifications on photos app (mac)!

I'm the guy who sees the little "count of unread" bubble icon on an app and has to make it go away. I like to have zero notifications - I'm going to use all my apps anyway at some point throughout the day and prefer to find what I need to find without a "call to action" via a little red bubble.

How can I turn off notification for Photos? I have a friend who updates a shared album regularly and I keep getting notifications that I need to dismiss.
