Call logs on new Phone

The salesperson at the Verizon store SUPPOSEDLY transferred all my old phone's data to the new phone. However, the call log under "Recents" only goes back in time to 12/6. I had many calls saved that went back in time to previous years. I would delete calls weekly so that i could keep all the ones i needed right at my fingertips. They were a history/timeline of medical issues, bills disputed, vendors contacted, etc, that i relied upon to be saved. I was told everything would come across to the new phone from the Cloud - why didn't it? I only have 34 calls listed. The info i've read said the cloud stores up to 1000 calls and shows up to 100 in the Recents log at any given time. For instance, on my husbands iPhone 7, when he deletes his oldest call showing on the reel, another from the list fills in to take its place. Thats how mine used to work. It does not any longer. Please help! Should i be calling an Apple phone specialist to address this?
