iPad losing charge

The iPad gets fully charged, showing 100%. Then, it loses charge when not in use and cover is closed. Is a new battery needed.

It seems like your iPad is on iOS 10 from the category you selected. Is this accurate? If so its possible your iPad will need a new battery. You can check out this article on how to increase battery performance.
