how to adjust text message read-back volume in apple carplay

hello,

I've noticed over the last month that the text read-back in apple car play is at a very low volume compared to the other apps. I've had the car since 2018 and it's only now just happening. The initial text alert is at a normal volume (the same volume I listen to podcasts), but when i ask siri to read the text message, i can barely hear it. Again, it seems to have gradually lowered over the last few weeks, so trying to understand why that may be. I've tried to reboot the phone as well.
