Wi-Fi 6 Revisited

Before I came back to Apple, I had a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. I'm beginning to wonder why I went back, but probably for the watch, not the phone.

That being said, I know my router/hub is Wi-Fi 6, as on the android device, next to the little WiFi symbol, there was a "6" showing. However, on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, I cannot find the "6", to indicate the connection, nor can I find anywhere that would indicate the "x" version of the wifi protocol.

Why is this? Is it actually that hard to make the little indicator show up?

I know Apple says "it's wifi 6 capable, but, how do I verify this? Perhaps it isn't as compatible as they say, given one of the earlier answers to a similar thread.

Anyone with REAL, firsthand knowledge care to give a method for verifying this connection without the added expense of an additional app?

Thanks in advance.
