Cannot update App must accept Media Terms and Conditions

I run Zwift on my Apple TV (not the latest gen, one back). Every time I have to update the app, I get a notice that Apple Media Terms and Conditions have changed (they haven't since September) and that I must agree to them to continue. When I click OK, I get Coming Soon! and that's all. If I select Cancel I just go back to the same screen (trying to update again doesn't work either).

Removing the app and reinstalling works, but Zwift is not a small app and it takes a while; enough time that my lunchtime bike ride is shot.

Can someone help he get past this? This annoying enough that I'm really regretting purchasing an Apple TV.

I have fixed the issue! After 4 days and 3.5 hours on the phone on Saturday night, we finally fixed it!

The trick, and this is going to sound odd, is that I had to go into Apple Music and start signing up for a free trial. Once I did that, I could accept the Media Terms and Conditions, and now Zwift will update!

Every time I have to update the app …

Yeah, it seems they do so about twice a month. That is quite frequently.

Are you sure that is about the Apple Media Terms and Conditions? Not the Zwift Terms and Conditions? Because …

Removing the app and reinstalling works

… this would be subject to the same Apple Media Terms and Conditions as (auto) updating.

I am. She says that she's an expert in Apple TV issues (and I believe her) but she's never heard of this issue. She's also having trouble setting my Apple TV into a mode where she can collect diagnostic information, which I can't help but believe is related to my problem. It doesn't help that I don't run an Apple phone so we couldn't do video conferencing so she could see the issue (and she is prohibited from using any non-Apple Tech on the job, which I found fascinating).

It's been escalated to the super-secret group that not even she can call directly. I suspect it's a SW bug related to someone using Apple TV but nothing else in the Apple eco-system.

I mean, I suppose I can operate in the mean time by just uninstalling and reinstalling every time an update happens, but Zwift is over 2GB in size. I'm not doing that right now because I have it in failure mode and want to keep it that way in order to help diagnose the issue (I'll use FulGaz in the mean time for my rides).
