phone not appearing in itunes when I attempt to sync

iphone is not appearing in Itunes when I attempt to Sync. Computer has the new M1 chip.

iPhone 11, iOS 15

That’s because there is no iTunes on a Mac with an M1 chip. There is a Music app, which is just for music; it doesn’t manage syncing. Instead you use Finder for syncing if your Mac has Catalina or later→Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support
