I have a late 2015 iMac that is still on Sierra 10.12.6 and need to upgrade to a new OS, any recommendations on which one i should get?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on what you find, click on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey.
32-bit software won't run in Catalina and newer; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To check general compatibility, click here and look your programs up.

Ok thank you for that info but just to clarify are High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina still be updated by apple? Thought I read on the web site they were no longer supporting those for security updates, etc.?

Apple generally releases security updates for the three most-recent versions.
