Thanks for providing the alert. Test this in different light, and with different backgrounds. It's possible something is confusing the camera. About Face ID advanced technology - Apple Support

"Face ID requires that the TrueDepth camera sees your face, whether your device is lying on a surface or you're holding it in a natural position. The TrueDepth camera has a similar range of view as when you take a photo or make a FaceTime call with the front camera. Face ID works best when the device is arm’s length or less from your face (25-50 cm away from your face)."

If you still have issues, also check the info and troubleshooting here: If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support

Thanks.

Hello Realsarahjane,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with your iPhone and Memoji.

Please start here: Use Memoji on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support

Also check your settings: "If you want your Memoji on all of your compatible devicesyou need two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID, and you need to be signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID on all the devices. You also need to have iCloud Drive turned on. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive."

If necessary, delete and re-add your Memoji. Let us know if you get any alerts or error codes, or if you have other issues such as Face ID alerts or problems with purchases using Face ID. Thanks.

Ironically enough, the day after I posted here, my memoji began working. For less than 24 hours.

I have verified that each of my devices have 2 factor authentication and iCloud drive turned on.

I have restarted my phone -twice.

As well, I have deleted all of the memoji's on my phone and then created a new one.

Unfortunately it hasn't worked so far....

The message displayed is still the same...."face tracking failed" and then "tap to resume".

Strangely enough my face authentication for apps is working fine.

My alter ego Wu is depressed after not being let out to play. My poor friends miss their daily messages from Wu, and are pressuring me to let Wu out. Wu is not the same without Memoji.....

Please help

I believe I've tried every light and angle possible.

I've even tried using broadcasting set lights. NO DICE.

I've done all the troubleshooting possible - at least 4-5 hrs so far!!!! @#%***!!!

Is there anyone who works at Apple that will engage in direct contact to do some actual troubleshooting?

Much preferred to than these posts which have proven extremely frustrating so far as there is no resolution.

Thanks.
