Different accounts for iCloud and Store

A new phone that needs setting up is challenging me to solve a problem I've had with successive Apple accounts. iCloud is attached to an me.com email address that I've never used and can't remember the password for. It may also me linked to a dead work email address. I can get into my store account with another email and password. No idea how to proceed... Anyone?

Visit iforgot.apple.com to reset the me.com password. You might also have to try the same email with iCloud.com (me.com is an alias). See if that helps.


Then you'll probably want to select one account to use going forward.

If you are the owner or the owner has shared all information with you then to open Activation Lock:- If it is Activation locked, read here --> Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.
