Change Mail’s retention policy for deleted messages

Apple Mail seems to permanently (again) delete emails from the Deleted Messages folder in seven days on the iPhone/iPad; it is customizable on the Mac. is there a way to change this? Seven days is way too short.

Mail on the iPhone used to allow some level of customization for retention policy in the past, although I’m unaware of when it changed (and, hence, lost a bunch of emails).

Hi sdhital,

We understand you need help with Mail settings on your iPhone. Check out the following guide that can help, specifically the section "Decide how long to keep deleted emails":

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
