Is a yellow drive icon an SSD

It's been awhile since my last Mini (Mavericks was new), and I have a WD Passport external drive (EXFAT) connected as a media drive, to my M1. Its icon is golden or yellow. Is that a definite indicator that the drive is an SSD? If I listen closely to it when writing files, I can still hear ticking sounds like an HDD would make.

M1 Mac mini can't read my SanDisk SSD I am using a SanDisk SSD, however my Mac mini can't read the file of it. The SSD showed up in finder, but it can never load its content. It also didn't show up in Disk Utilities. Mac mini also told me I disconnected it without ejecting it properly which I didn't do that. I thought is my SSD's problem, so I try to plug it into my 2017 MacBook Pro. It works totally fine, the MacBook Pro can read the files in the SSD. Can anyone help me?

Can’t change Sabrent ssd icon I cannot change the icon for a Sabrent drive. I have followed the iOS instructions for all my other drives, but this one will not accept the new icon. I contacted Sabrent, and they said it was an Apple/iOS issue. Any advice?

It's a generic icon for any external drive.
