Hello, I asked a similar question before...
I've used iMovie last June and created a good time-lapse movie.
However, now I have been trying different groups of images and all I get is this shaking time-lapse and all images are fine... I am wondering if there are some changes/u[dates in iMovie that I do not know about. Does anyone know... Can you help? Thank you for your time!

One thing that you might check is whether you have sufficient free disk space on your Mac for iMovie to function efficiently. Go to Apple Logo/About this Mac/Storage and see how much you have. You probably want about 25 GB free. for a project of this type.

I was blown away how much quicker it is to create a Timelapse in QuickTime Player!
Just go to file and click on New Image Sequence, add your images, and done! Easy! I made 7 movies in half an hour 😊

this is what my quick time looked like before!
but I updated to Big Sur 64 bit a while ago! Lots of headaches but it works now.
i think if you update, you will see the image sequence. So complicated! Lol

Apple couldn't help with iMovie :( but they showed me how to make the timelapse in QuickTime Player. Easy! Thank you, Rich!

If you have time to post back I'd be interested in the procedure for creating time lapse in QuickTimePlayer.

My version of QuickTimePlayer (10.5) does not have an image sequencing feature. Are you by chance using QuickTimePlayer Pro, that does have an image sequencing feature. The old iMovie 6 had it as well.

I now remember that last year my QuickTime Player also did not have the image sequence option...
This is what I am using now, it is the same version that you have, right? Version 10.5 (1086.4.2)
Go to File and you will see the 4 options:
Open File
Open location
Open image sequence
Open recent

Interesting that my QuickTimePlayer/File selection does not reveal an Open image sequence option. Here's what mine looks like:
It seems that the sequence feature was added with updates. I'm running Mojave, that is before the switch to 64 bit. In any event, thank you for posting back with your info.
