problem with SPF record icloud custom domain google dns

Anyone successful in setting correct DNS records in Google Domains DNS? I keep having a problem with the SPF record. I've tried double quotes no quotes and changing to a TXT record type. Any help is welcome.

Check your MX/SPF/TXT Records I have my DNS configured through Cloudflare. I have followed their guide on setting this up as well as the one from Apple. Cloudflare does not allow a trailing period at the end of an MX record, and whenever the @ symbol is placed somewhere it defaults to the root domain. One of the records (The CNAME) allows DNS Proxy which I have disabled. Every time I tell iCloud to verify the settings it tells me to check one of my records, usually the MX record but sometimes other ones. When I check MXtoolbox or query my ISP's nameservers I get the correct information in all of the records. An error message or a reason for failure would be very useful in this situation as a generic "check the records" response is somewhat meaningless. Is there something I am unaware of that needs to be configured separately? I have also re-started the process and tried in a different browser, all with the same behaviour.

setting up a custom domain Hi. I'm trying to add a new custom domain, having already created one successfully in the past. This time, iCloud settings detects that my domain is hosted by IONOS and so doesn't provide me with DNS settings, instead prompting me to login to IONOS. When I login to IONOS I get an error 500. I try the same process with a GoDaddy domain and it works. I know that if I can get the DNS settings (and specifically the 'personal TXT record provide by Apple') I will be able to complete the setup. There doesn't seem to be any way to get it though. Has anyone experienced similar? Is there a way to get the TXT record, or to avoid the 500 error? Thanks.

Setting up existing domain with iCloud When setting up a domain with iCloud I should add five DNS settings according to Apple (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212524): MX: host: [example.com]. points to: mx01.mail.icloud.com. priority: 10 TTL: 3600 MX: host: [example.com]. points to: mx02.mail.icloud.com. priority: 10 TTL: 3600 TXT: host: [example.com]. points to: “v=spf1 redirect=icloud.com” TTL: 3600 CNAME: host: sig1._domainkey points to: sig1.dkim.[example.com].at.icloudmailadmin.com. TTL: 3600 TXT: host: [example.com]. points to: [personal TXT record provided during set up] TTL: 3600 I have added the first four settings and my mail seem to be working through iCloud, but I haven't got the info "personal TXT record provided during set up" from Apple and can't find it anywhere. And I haven't set this up yet, so it is simply missing in my settings. As I understand this should be some kind of validation to make sure my domain isn't used by anyone else. But to add it I still need to find this code somewhere. Can anybody help, where I can obtain it? Thanks /Kalle

Apple checking TXT type, google domains uses SPF type for storing SPF record.

So just add an extra record to TXT with your SPF data.

I'm not using Google Domains DNS, but my emails to gmail addresses were ending up in junk. I changed the recommended "redirect=icloud.com" SPF record to

v=spf1 include:icloud.com ~all

and it solved the problem. Maybe it will help you.

Same problem. I’ve even tried changing DNS servers, but the problem persists.
