OSX Monterey and Time Machine

Since when did Time Machine stop backing up mail? I'm trying to find a deleted e mail in TM and I cannot even find the mail app at all. What happened Apple?

You have to drill down in the files system to get to mail. They are located here:

V9 is for Monterey Earlier messages are in lower V numbers.

You are right is that the older method to start with Mail app on top bring up ™ does not bring up a TN Mail app so you can more easily find old emails.

Thank you for this helpful reply. Not sure what Apple is trying to achieve by this as the whole point of TM was ease of use which seems to have gone as far as Mail backups are concerned. I also have mailboxes “On My Mac” which I cannot find. I’ll try your advice and see if those also reside in the similar location
