I am currently receiving SMS messages on my Mac. Unlike iMessages, when I read them on my iPhone, they aren not also marked as read on Mac.
Does anyone know either:
I'd like to not have to just turn off SMS on my Mac.

And then on the Device >> Setting >> Messages and Enable Text Forwarding. Also, while in there and inside Text Forwarding check if the Computer is listed and make sure it is Enable via slider to Green.
This may appear as silly question but are Both Devices using the Same Apple ID
The only way to have syncing between devices is to use Messages in iCloud. Is that enabled in the Messages Preferences?

The latest version of Monterey is version 12.1 which was released Dec 13, 2021
I've tried that to no avail. That was my original configuration, and turning it off/on doesn't resolve the issue either.

Then, should we presume the computer is running the latest version of Monterey version 12.1 ?
