data transfer not working

Hello,

The automatic data transfer from iphone 8 to iphone 11 is currently not working on my devices.

Sometimes I get: not enough space to do tranfer (while I have 20GB free) other times I just get message transfer cancelled.

I have tried multiple things. Sim card in new or old iPhone; connecting both to a charger; making sure battery is full on both devices.

I'm not actively working with iCloud.

Does anybody have an easy option to make the data transfer work?

P.S. in the future it is recommended that you use iCloud. In fact, you could do it now. Turn on iCloud on the old phone, let the data sync, then use the same Apple ID on the new phone and your data should sync to the new phone:
