Brand New iPhone 13 smells like battery acid/nail polish

So I just got a new phone yesterday and its been working great, but I recently plugged it in to charge it and ever since my charging outlet has smelt like a mixture of battery acid and nail polish. I don't know if it came from the cord or something happened with my phone because both have the same smell on them. Whats strange is my brother uses that cord everyday and hasnt had any issues. I havent charged it since then but I do need to use my phone at my morning shift tmrw and the battery is getting low, but im worried something might happen if I do charge it.
