How do I change my password for Itunes when I no longer use the phone associated to my account?

I have money on an itunes account but it's asking for my password before I buy any songs. When I hit forget password it sends me a code however, the code is being sent to my old iphone which I no longer have. How do I get apple to send the code to my gmail account? Any help would be awesome and thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Apple Community.


Your Apple ID is the one account you use to access all Apple services,

like the App Store, Apple Music, iTunes, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more.


It includes the email address and password you use to sign in,

as well as the contact, payment, and security details you use across Apple services.


If you scroll down this article from Apple support:

"Two-factor authentication for Apple ID"

Says:

Update your trusted phone number on your Apple ID account page

    1. Go to appleid.apple.com/au.
    2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
    3. Go to the Security section and click Edit.

If you want to add a phone number,

click Add a Trusted Phone Number and enter the phone number.

Choose to verify the number with a text message or automated phone call, and click Continue.

To remove a trusted phone number,

click next to the phone number you want to remove.
