Move ICloud storage to new iPhone

I upgraded my iPhone 8 Plus to an iPhone 13 Pro Max and need to know how to transfer my purchased ICloud storage to my new iPhone. I received notice backup failed because of storage but I have lots left, however it’s connected to previous iPhone.

Thanks!

iCloud Storage is not tied to a specific device. It's tied to your Apple ID.

If you used the same Apple ID for iCloud on your new iPhone as on the old one, the storage should then be available on the new one.

Check Settings->Account(top of settings)->iCloud and see what it says about your storage.

The Phone itself does not require iCloud Storage. your data and backups however may.

You would need to make that decision based on your needs. Since you still have 13.4GB free, I don't think its quite necessary to upgrade yet. You may consider that in the future, or manage what is using up iCloud Storage to release some space.
